The spring/summer season is just around the corner. And so is my Spring/Summer Parisian style fashion forecast for 2022. With the arrival of spring, it is more than evident that our fashion styles and looks will see some changes. And all of that comes inspired by nothing else but the Paris Fashion Week and the runways.
For the spring/summer 2022 season, what remains to be the focus of the Parisian style is originality. The influx of colors and bold patterns and cuts brings back the desire to dress up and go out in outfits that will flaunt one’s taste and preference. Although this might sound challenging for many, the self-esteem and the confidence of wearing the fashion is unbeatable.
As your lifestyle expert and personal stylist, I bring you the best out of the Parisian spring-summer 2022 trends.
Preppy fashion for the office
If there is one thing that the new spring-summer trends bring to fashion and that best display the Parisian style, that is the preppy fashion. The preppy fashion revival started last year and is still going strong. Moreover, it is picking up more steam. For this season’s student look, the dress code has been redefined and reimagined. This includes back-to-school uniforms that are different from those in the past. The looks are pretty cool. As seen at Lacoste, the cable knit sweater with hot pants was a total hit.
You can wear this cable knit sweater at the office with a culotte skirt. Likewise, accompany the latter ensemble with heels or flats depending on the day of the week. For example, flats on Friday and heels on Wednesday!
Colorful suits – add a pop of color to your meeting suit!
Suits never go out of fashion, and this spring/summer 2022 season, they come with a pop of color too. All varieties of suits shine during the Paris Fashion Week, making it a new power combo. The key look came from the cropped top, pants or a skirt, with a jacket too, all in the same color. Dior and Nina Ricci included monochromatic three-piece sets that are a great inspiration for a spring Parisian style outfit.
With Chez Dior, even the coats and shoes had a pop of color! Saint Laurent surprised with colorful gloves and earrings, creating a beautiful contrast.
Maxi lengths are always lovely in the summer
Maxi silhouettes are so in the S/S (spring-summer) ’22, and there are simply not enough of them. Saint Laurent opted for a look with a vest top and column skirt that would deliver a cool spin on suiting. Chanel, on the other hand, decided to go with some more classical cuts with an input of a large cleavage. The maxi dresses were simply stylish and did not lack comfortability. Moreover, Dior too, had beautiful maxi-length pieces.
The new naked circa 2022
Each season, the so-called “naked fashion” is getting a new and fresh vibe, and for the S/S 2022, the collections are no exception. Not only are they present, but the sheer pieces that were once more than enough are now accentuated with the exposed underwear, inventive cutouts, bare midriff, etc. In addition, Saint Laurent had cutouts on some of their evening pieces – precisely jumpsuits. For more, you can find this style with Chez Coperni or Ludovic De Saint Sernin.
This style can be worn on a vacation at Ibiza, jet-set parties in France for the lovely Coperni blazer or jacket with cutouts, along with VIP clubs around the world! Have fun!
Leather, the edgy textile
The French designers did not miss on the utilitarian and edgy textile. As leather is the classic fashion staple, regardless of the era, it comes in new and fresh versions every season. Whether it is a classic leather coat that resembles the look of a trench, a leather blazer, or even a leather skirt, the leather was present quite a lot on the runways. Balenciaga (Brand of Spanish origin, now based in Paris, France) put the focus on the head-to-toe leather look, including a matching leather bag, while Givenchy put the focus on the leather through the thigh-high, leggings-looking leather boots.
