Spring / Summer 2023 Parisian Style Fashion Forecast
The warmer seasons always bring particular joy and excitement when it comes to dressing and fashion. And it was not unexpected that the fashion weeks around the world would focus just on that. Also, the spring-summer 2023 fashion season can definitely be regarded as one full of festive spirit, and evoked imagination. Yet, the pieces introduced were the perfect depiction of how fashion and art can blend together. Although, one of the biggest inspirations is the 2000s, which still has a strong accent in the upcoming season. Moreover, with the overall take on the fashion trends, it is safe to say that cargo pants are everywhere, and the “Barbiecore” trend shifts to some softer shades, with the addition of baby blue, sunset tones, and monochrome beiges.
In addition to all of the above-mentioned, here is a deep dive into the key fashion trends seen during the spring-summer 2023 Paris fashion week:
Optical Illusions or Trompe l’oeil Outfits
However, a bit unexpected, with an ingenious display of creativity. Further, one of the key trends from the Paris fashion week was the optical illusions. Additionally, the pieces presented pixelated shapes.
In addition, there were trouser skirts and faux topless effects, all of which delivered a futuristic accent.
Again, Y/Project and Balmain have these creative pieces.
Cargo pants outfits
More, the cargo pants trend continues to dominate the fashion scene. Their popularity started back in the 1930s, and it is still huge today. More, the new trend focused on the styles between military aesthetics and streetwear. You can find these cargo pants chez Coperni and marry them with cut-out tops that they also carry. Furthermore this is an easy style for those lazy afternoons during the late spring or summer.
The cabaret spirit: Liquid Gold outfits
Another appealing trend that continues its presence on the fashion scene is glitters and sequins. As well, everything that shines comes in a new version of the so-called “liquid gold“. According to the fashion runways, this trend is designed to be worn like a second skin and achieve chic evening wear. So, dresses and skirts in liquid gold were seen on the Maison Chanel runway. The cabaret spirit was also seen chez Christian Dior with delicate embroidery and shimmery fabrics.
Goth 2.0 outfits
Likewise, believe it or not, the presence of Goth fashion continues in the new season too. Of course, with the touch of novelty, the literal gothic style is now replaced with a soft grunge take on the style. Alike, what remains unchanged and dominating is the black color. Equally, it delivers the classical Goth girl look but is now completed with the addition of transparency and volume.
In addition, chez Dior, the Goth outfits were inspired by Catherine De Medici, an Italian noblewoman who married Henry II, king of France. Also, chez Paco Rabanne, you could spot a transparent black lace dress, and top, adorned with chunky jewelry.
Pantaleggings à l’honneur!
Similarly, there is certainly no better way to introduce the spring season than with the presence of pantaleggings in neon colors – chez Balenciaga. Chanel introduced “The Mary Janes”, a lovely white netting style in a thigh-length tights – for late spring to cold summer mornings. Note that this style incorporates the shoe with the legging, or even hosiery.
Crop Tops: A summer beach style
As well, another trend showing no signs of slowing down is the crop top trend. Chez Couregges, the crop married beautifully with skirts, and cargo-style pants. While chez Paco Rabanne the crop tops were much dressier adorned with prints – for social events.
You can combine the summer beach style with the biker trend – by sporting a leather jacket. Seen both on and off the runways, the new take on the style is the more minimalist approach.
These new trends can be a nice inspiration to redefine your Parisian style.
